Golf

Golf is an individual sport, consisting in hitting a ball with a club starting from the departure area until it is introduced in a hole by one or several strokes executed in accordance with the Rules. The goal is to complete all the courses with the smallest number of strokes by using various golf clubs to hit the ball with a different force and effect. Typically, the game courses consist of 9 or 18 holes. The number of clubs made available to golf players is 14: all vary in terms of size, weight and material.

Every hole must be completed in the number of allowed strokes (3, 4 or 5) depending on the course size. When a player exceeds par, it means that he used a bigger number of strokes, whereas when he finishes below par, it means he has completed the hole will less strokes. Field par represents the sum of all the strokes necessary to complete the holes (usually 18) and it is normally placed between 69 and 72.

Most important tournaments :

Masters Tournament

This takes place in Georgia, the United States of America, and is one of the oldest tournaments, created in 1934. Usually, this tournament taxes place in April.

US Open

The major American classic with over 100 years of history. It takes place on the distance of 72 holes and is organized in the month of June.

The Open Championship

Also known as The British Open, it is held in nine different places in the United Kingdom. The only major disputed outside the United States, Open Championship is organized every year in the month of July.

PGA Championship

Hosted by the Association of American golf players, it is played on various courses in the United States, usually in mid-August (usually four weeks after the British Open).

VICTORY MARGIN

This type of game allows players to bet on the final victory margin or with how many advantage strokes a player will win the tournament. The competition may, for instance, end with one, two or three differentiating hits.

LEADER IN THE FIRST ROUND

This type of game allows betting on the player who, at the end of the first round, will be on top of the classification. The format is technically the same as the winner of the tournament.

HOLE FROM THE FIRST STROKE

This type of game allows betting on two variants. One may bet on the possibility according to which, during the entire tournament, at least one hole will be achieved by only one stroke. One may also indicate the player who will execute this stroke.
