Betting Academy
PrintBetting is an art, and the better you are, the more and more fascinating it gets. However there is no lecture or faculty that allows fans to officially learn the notions of the game.
Stanleybet’s exclusive Betting School sets out to explain, in detail, all the sports markets that it offers. Once again, please remember that even the most experienced punters have to return to school from time to time.

WHAT IS A BOOKMAKER?
"Bookmaker" is an English term used to appoint an authorized company to offer sports bets to the general public. Bookmakers own a license which is usually issued in their country of residence, allowing them to legally carry out their activity. Several Bookmakers are English, and Great Britain has always been defined as betters’ kingdom.
WHAT IS A BET?
A bet is formed of a unit of events for which a certain forecast of an event is set, in which certain preset odds have been associated. In the English tradition, the bet appears like a "gentlemen's agreement" between the better and the bookmaker, who guarantees the payment of the won amount in case the forecast is true.
WHAT IS THE PROGRAM?
The program is a series of sports events for which the Bookmaker accepts bets. Each event present in the program is defined by a numeric code. The program is updated on a daily basis and it contains all the sports and types of bets available.
TYPES OF BETS
Bets are divided in two types: simple bets and multiple bets, according to the number of selected events.
SIMPLE BET
A simple bet is a bet on one single event. If said selection is considered null (odd 1.00), the bet will be reimbursed in full.
MULTIPLE BET
A multiple bet is a bet on two or several events. If one of said selections is considered null, the bet is still valid, and the null selection wins with the odd 1.00.
Many multiple bet systems (of up to maximum 20) may be played on one slip and, obviously, they may be used in combination systems. Stanleybet is the only bookmaker that offers in Italy bets based on the engineering of systems with unitary play manner set for 0.01 euro.
COMBINATION SYSTEM
This type of bet allows the player to bet from a minimum of 2 to a maximum of 20 events.
The computer calculates the potential winnings and the total number of combinations in relation to the system.
The computer will also divide the total bet by the number of combinations so that it may obtain the unitary number of points that will afterwards be multiplied by the odds of all the possible combinations proven to be winners.
COMPLETE OR PARTIAL COMBINATION SYSTEM
This type of bet is made of several bet system played on the same slip.
in the combination system, if 4 results are found, 4 winning combination are obtained, while in complete combination systems, 5 winning combinations are obtained (as shown at page 19). This happens because, to the 4 combinations of the system of 3 out of 5, the unique combination of the system of 4 out of 5 must be added.
In a similar manner, if all 5 results have been correctly predicted, there will be 16 winning combinations (10 in the system of 3 out of 5, 5 in the system of 4 out of 5, and 1 in the system of 5 out of 5). Choosing the complete combination system allows the exclusion of certain possible combinations, for instance, only the systems of 3 out of 5 and of 5 out of 5 may be chosen (omitting all the combinations in the system of 4 out of 5).
BANKER BETTING SYSTEM
"Bankers" are those selections of which the better is very certain and which he always wants to be present in the counting of all possible combinations.
If the "banker" selection is not efficient, then, in any case, the entire bet will be a non-winner, no matter how many of the remaining selections have proven to be correct.
